The library, with its thousands of volumes, will be of support to scholars who carry out research especially in the field of monastic studies, from archeology to medicinal herbs.
The library also will have archival documentation on the former monastery of San Giorgio in Vado.
Many available volumes will focus on ancient monastic life and culture, but the reality is that monasteries have always been a microcosm of the surrounding life, history and culture of the area.
The library is currently being archived and expanded, with the inauguration scheduled for 2022. Although most of the books are in Italian, many texts are available in Latin, English, German, Slovenian and other languages. Books, journals of archeology, history, religion and literature, brochures, dictionaries and much more will be available, with areas prepared for reading and study.
